No matter where you are, there are always ways to make a difference and help those in need. This summer, I began volunteering with Filling in the Blanks near my hometown, assisting with meal packaging to combat food insecurity. As a packing assistant, it’s easy to get involved—whether you can spare two hours or six, all it takes is a simple click to sign up and contribute. Ultimately, I hope to take on a leadership role as a lead packer and become more deeply involved in the organization’s efforts. I encourage everyone to research opportunities in their own communities; there are likely countless ways to help that you might not even be aware of. Taking that first step can have a meaningful impact and connect you to causes close to your heart.
